THE HOST BAND
Emmanuel Bach Trio
Led by Brazilian guitarist Emmanuel Bach, the trio brings together the sophistication of modern jazz with the rhythmic richness of Brazilian music.
Emmanuel, originally from Brazil and now a key figure in the Winnipeg jazz scene, holds a master's degree from the University of Manitoba. He has released three albums as a leader and performed with legends like Airto Moreira, Flora Purim, and Ivan Lins.
The trio features two of Canada's most in-demand musicians:

Fabio Ragnelli (Drums)
A JUNO Award-winning drummer, Fabio has toured internationally and performed at prestigious venues like The Blue Note and Birdland in NYC. He has collaborated with artists across the globe and brings a dynamic, modern rhythmic approach to the trio.

Karl Kohut (Bass)
Assistant Professor of Jazz Bass at the University of Manitoba, Karl spent four years in NYC performing with icons like Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. A Juilliard graduate, he brings world-class experience and deep groove to the ensemble.

Jon Gordon
Saxophone
Jon Gordon is a New York-based alto saxophonist and composer celebrated as one of the top voices of his generation. His album Within Worlds earned 4.5 stars from Down Beat, and Stranger Than Fiction was named one of the top 10 jazz releases of 2021 by multiple jazz critics. Wayne Shorter described his playing as "carrying the ability to extend music as a universal language."

Zachary Rushing & Jon Gordon
Voice & Saxophone
An emerging vocalist on the Canadian music scene, Zachary Rushing brings a seasoned sound rich in varied influences — from musical theater and classical to contemporary pop and jazz. A transplant to Winnipeg via Seattle, Washington, he is most at home with the jazz tradition of the Great American Songbook. Influenced by Sarah Vaughan, Betty Carter, and Joni Mitchell, Zachary brings a fresh and individual perspective to the jazz vocal tradition. Joining him is saxophonist Jon Gordon, a world-class performer whose lyrical playing and deep harmonic language have made him one of the most respected voices in contemporary jazz.

Dhiego Costa
Piano
Brazilian-born pianist Dhiego Costa brings over two decades of mastery to the stage, rooted in the rich traditions of samba, bossa nova, and baião. He holds a Master's Degree in jazz piano from the University of Manitoba, where he was awarded a full scholarship. Dhiego has performed with ensembles across Brazil, the United States, and New Zealand, including the Campbellsville University Jazz Orchestra and the Brazilian Jazz Combo. He has conducted workshops on Brazilian music and jazz improvisation internationally, and is a vibrant presence in the Winnipeg music scene.

Amber Epp
Vocals & Piano
Winnipeg-based vocalist and pianist Amber Epp brings warmth, wit, and a deep love of the jazz tradition to every performance. Known for her expressive phrasing and natural stage presence, she draws from the Great American Songbook and beyond, delivering intimate and engaging sets that connect with audiences of all backgrounds.

A versatile and accomplished trumpeter, Andrew Littleford is a compelling voice in the Winnipeg jazz scene. With a rich, warm tone and a command of both the jazz tradition and contemporary styles, he brings a distinctive presence to the stage as a soloist and ensemble leader.

Saxophone
Saxophonist Niall Cade is a dynamic and expressive performer rooted in the jazz tradition. With a soulful sound and an adventurous improvisational spirit, he brings energy and depth to every performance, drawing on a wide range of influences from bebop to contemporary jazz.
